EAC Secretary General Convening 2026 Joint Communiqué

The East African Community Secretary General Convening 2026 was held from 23rd–24th April 2026 at Mount Meru Hotel, Arusha, Tanzania, under the theme: “From Summit Directives to Action: Strengthening Regional Integration Through Stakeholder Engagement, Accountability, and Leadership.”

The Convening brought together regional dialogue parties, institutions, civil society, private sector actors, youth networks, trade unions, development partners, and governance stakeholders to deliberate on advancing regional integration and strengthening implementation of EAC Summit directives.

The Joint Communiqué highlights recommendations on treaty alignment, stakeholder engagement, non-tariff barriers, youth empowerment, cross-border trade facilitation, decentralized governance, and people-centred regional integration.
